With self-love, you can do anything you want. It helps you improve your mental state, achieve the lost goals, and much more. Once you love yourself, you’ll get to know your worth, and also, it’ll be easier for you to love others. Here are the two most important reasons to love yourself.
You can’t give others anything that you don’t have for yourself. If you don’t love yourself first, you can give it to anyone, nor can you expect others to love you the way you need. Loving oneself is undoubtedly more complex than loving others.
Do you know why? Because we all know our flaws and loving ourselves despite all our faults is difficult for most people. When you’re in love with any other, you don’t consider their flaws; instead, you focus on what positive things they have.
Why not do the same for yourself? Loving oneself requires effort, dedication, attention, and, of course, time. According to some research, if you treat yourself with the same kindness, love, and care you show to others, you can live a happier, healthier, perfect life. Self-love matters for your soul and body.
And honestly, no one knows you better than you. Then why not treat yourself like a queen/king? Why not make yourself feel special? Instead of trying to make other people happy. Here I’m going to give you the two most important reasons to love yourself.
You Are You
If you focus, you might get the answer in the heading already. You are you, and certainly, you can’t be anyone else. There is no use for self-criticism or self-loathing because you cannot be like any other person. However, accepting yourself and loving yourself for who you are is the only way to create a significant change in your life.
These days, social media has a bad influence on everyone; this is also a reason for people hating themselves for not being like others. Remember that whatever you see on social media is not authentic. They fake it to get some views. Instead of ruining your mental health with some complexes, start working on yourself to be better than others.
If you beat yourself up for not being as active as your neighbor, creative like your friends, neither social nor vocal, then you’ll lose yourself in this process. Consider this: if you’re a quiet individual, hence, you can’t expect yourself to be as talkative as your favorite influencer.
If you’re not as pretty as your maternal cousin is, then this isn’t your fault. Please don’t put a lot of burden on your shoulder to be like her. You can’t be like anyone. If you don’t have a fit body like a gym trainer, you need to work on it by loving yourself first instead of cursing your body. It would help if you looked deeper and closer to yourself, so you know you’re enough for yourself already.
Through self-acceptance, you can be happier. Here are some tips that will help you in loving yourself:
· Consider your mistakes an opportunity to perform well.
· Make a list of things you do well.
· Be kind to yourself as you are to others.
· Check out your strengths by asking others or by asking yourself.
· Stay in peace with the person you’re instead of blaming yourself for every little thing.
Make sure not to be bothered by what other people think of it. It will stop your growth and push you to the point from where you just started. Improve yourself by working on your behaviors, boosting your performance, and polishing your skills but don’t expect to be like anyone else because you are better than the rest. Remember just one thing you are you, so be you.
You are valid
Accept yourself for who you’re, and accept your flaws, bad habits, and failures. Love yourself for who you’re instead of constantly complaining about your mistakes or habits. Loving yourself is honestly the best way to create an effective change in life. Forgive yourself for everything you’ve done and start appreciating everything from now onwards. Hating yourself for everything will not help you grow physically or mentally.
People become their enemies sometimes just because they think they are not acceptable. Instead of beating yourself up to bring the change, why not create a change by loving yourself. You might tell yourself you’re not valid, you don’t belong here, you’re not active or too unproductive, not pretty enough, not kind enough, not thoughtful enough, not trendy enough, and the list of “not enough” goes on and on. It’s essential to realize that you’re not as bad as people make you feel about, or you think.
Shaming yourself for every little thing will only worsen the situation, and in the end, you will push yourself towards destruction instead of growth. Start thinking, “you are valid,” you’re enough to move the mountains, you’re beautiful soul inside out, every day, and you’ll be surprised to see the positive change in your life.
The moment you start thinking you’re valid and loving yourself, you’ll feel a significant change in your mental health. The more you accept yourself for who you’re, the fewer people’s opinions will affect you. Own yourself, and you’ll feel no pressure to live your life according to people’s expectations. Don’t let others tell you that you’re not acceptable or belong to this society. Make them surprised with how you love yourself and do better than others. You need to love yourself to accomplish your dreams and goals. It would help if you reminded yourself that you’re valid. Own your mistakes. Change them by loving yourself. The people who love themselves are both kind and empathetic, and successful. If you gather so much hate in your heart for yourself, it’ll also affect your loved ones. Think about it!! It’s not too late to make the change.
